If I can just turn back to the discussion, to get me refocused, How about those bridge builders in BSFB??? It seems that the bridge builders enjoyed being up there, without any harnesses, etc. I wonder how many people died building that thing. I mean, vouldnt the bridge company spare a couple of dollars for some harnesses?

At least they're not completely hot-dogging, like the builders in the (recently discussed) Tacoma Narrow Bridge film:
Maybe that's why one collapsed and the other is still open for business...!

Not a bunch of wimpy guys, that's for sure! An amazing project. The guys building skyscrapers during that era were fearless, too. It goes along with all those "men of steel" industrial WPA murals.
